Why
I started this blog partly because I wanted a place to store all of the cooking adventures I’ve had with my mom, but mostly because I love to eat, and I love to share my favorite foods with friends and family. In fact, if you’re my friend, I’ve probably tried to cook for you…or at least feed you some random store-bought item I thought was delicious (for better or for worse).
Now, I’m in the process of making this blog a forum where all of my friends can share their food knowledge with one another. Whether it’s a favorite wine, restaurant recommendation, product endorsement or an experimental recipe, I want all of us to be able to connect with one another in the most universal way possible – through our stomachs (and I guess by extension, our hearts).
…failing that, we can just all go get drunk together at the corner dive bar. I call tequila shots.
Luciables’ Obsession with Food Explained
When I was young, my mother told me every grain of rice left in my bowl would result in a blemish on my future husband’s face. Since I believed her wholeheartedly, I extended that rule to everything that ever touched my plate. What if I left a piece of broccoli behind, or a kernel of corn? Would my husband be covered in warts and cysts, as well?
Now that I’m 25 years old, I devoutly believe that my husband will have the clearest complexion possible and put all Neutrogena models to shame. Luckily for me, as I obsessively cleaned my plate in a stress-induced frenzy, I discovered I have an insatiable culinary appetite. Here, you’ll find the stories of my eating adventures!
Why Jan Jon Has a Schizo Diet
Once I hit 30 I realized that I really needed to start watching what I eat and take fitness more seriously. I work out about six days a week and try to stick to a strict diet, but I do allow myself one cheat meal a week so I don’t go completely insane.
